Overall, a decent experience but I kept running into trouble with the security staff. Not sure what their problem was. Maybe they just didn’t like me. Unsure as I did nothing wrong. Paid my bill, did jot engage in any barroom brawls and pretty much kept to myself

For the price, this is a perfectly fine place to stay somewhat close to the Strip. While it's not the newest or nicest property, the room was clean and quiet, and parking was free. The casino is small, but they do have a few restaurants and a brewery onsite. It's a bit of a hike (1/2-mile) to get to the Strip, so I'm not sure if I would make this a base for exploring the big resorts, but if you just need to stay overnight on a budget, this place totally works.

Ellis Island is not the four seasons. But if you want a simple, clean hotel that is located in the middle of the strip, you can't beat this place. The strip and monorail are within walking distance. The casino is small but has everything you need. The food is inexpensive and good for the price. Try the Front Porch restaurant. It has a great atmosphere and has a local vibe. Also, If you have not seen the sphere up close, I recommend taking the north bound monorail.

My flight home on Southwest was canceled after two pilots timed out. It was after midnight at this point, so I stood in line and got the hotel voucher SW offered. It was for Ellis Island Motel. This was about the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The lobby looks like it belongs at the DMV, and the line was incredibly long to check in, even given that it was 2AM by the time I checked in. The hallway on my floor was plain and scuffed. The room was clean, but the bed was squeaky. I half expected there to be a coin-operated bed that vibrated. But worst of all, the room was absolutely freezing. Although the thermostat was set at 72 degrees, I was shivering. I finally turned it off at 3:45AM and put my winter coat on top of me. I couldn't wait to get back to the airport to leave that disgusting hotel. It says a lot of SW to put stranded passengers in a place like that.

We have stayed here before and like the location off the Las Vegas strip. The hotel offers good value with a clean, large, well-appointed room. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom includes a bath tub and shower combination. The room includes a safe, refrigerator, coffee machine, free parking and a discount at some of the hotel's restaurants. After requesting a quiet room, they placed us in a wing overlooking the huge construction site next to the hotel. We survived by running the bathroom fan for white noise through the night. The noise was still audible, but the situation improved dramatically. You must request service each day if you wish to have service. The pillows are small and lumpy. The bathroom sink is not enclosed by the bathroom door. There is no microwave in the room. The front desk staff was not very friendly when we visited. Our phone did not work and nothing was done when we reported it.
